This is a cheap grinder that does its job excellently, but you can’t compare it to high-end models. Reviewer 1 — “Great and Affordable Burr Grinder”
This review is from a customer who has bought this grinder not once, but twice, so it must have been a satisfying purchase for them, or they wouldn’t have bought it a second time. That’s not the most interesting part of their review, though. Perhaps, more interesting is the fact that the first one lasted for more than 10 years and they only did the bare minimum cleaning to keep the machine running smoothly over the years.
Therefore, it’s clear that someone who buys this machine and takes care of it properly with routine thorough cleaning can make it last longer than it did for this reviewer — and it’s not even an expensive burr grinder. It’s cheap, yet it’s so durable as this review attests. As expected, this reviewer mentioned a lot of pros in their review seeing as they’ve had a wonderful experience with it.
However, they also mentioned some cons too, which I’ll start with. One of the things you should be concerned about, according to this reviewer, is the machine’s loudness. Although, this customer stated that they’re evaluating its noise level absolutely since they haven’t used any other burr grinders that they can compare it to, and they also say it’s not a huge concern most of the time.
Another con mentioned is the machine’s grind chamber needing cleaning due to the static it generates, but the cleaning frequency required of you depends on usage frequency. As far as deep cleaning goes, taking the machine apart isn’t difficult, so it’s easy to clean it thoroughly as you should every burr grinder every few months at least or as your manufacturer recommends.
It’s interesting how this reviewer’s previous machine died. They took it apart after it gave out and it turned out that it wasn’t poor maintenance that caused it to stop working — it was the failure of an electrical component. Nevertheless, regular cleaning is important, and I encourage everyone to clean their burr grinder not only to maintain its functionality but to maintain the taste, flavor, and freshness of their coffee.
The last con mentioned in this review is static cling, which, apparently, isn’t a big concern. The Cuisinart DBM-8 has a plastic grind chamber which can exacerbate static cling, but this reviewer mentions that it isn’t excessive, nor does it cause coffee grounds to scatter over the countertop. Now onto the advantages.
First off, it’s a highly durable grinder, and secondly, it’s cheap. You don’t often find these two qualities in a product, so seeing as this one has both, this is an indication that it’s worth the money. It has a reasonable price tag that should be affordable to everyone that loves to grind their own coffee beans at home. It comes with a large grind chamber that holds enough grounds for 32 cups of coffee, fine to coarse settings for any brewing method, and it grinds fast and evenly.
This reviewer concludes their review with a wholehearted recommendation. It’s obvious that if you raise your budget, you could get better burr grinders than the Cuisinart DBM-8, but they’re not going to give you much better results than you can get with this one. So, you pay much more for somewhat better results…If this is a grinder you’re considering, you won’t be making a mistake if you decide to buy it. In short, it’s worth the money.

This reviewer upgraded from a blade grinder and I imagine this is the model that most people with no experience with burr grinders want to be using. It’s a great product to buy if you’ve never used the burr kind and want to try them out, but being an entry-level product doesn’t discredit it. As mentioned above, it performs almost as great as the higher quality and more expensive products on the market.
This reviewer states that this machine grinds beans much better than their previous blade grinder, and that they love the range of grind sizes it offers and how easy it is to use. However, there’s just one thing they don’t like about the grounds it produces. They say it produces grounds with rightly sized particles, but some fine grounds form a crust on the front side of the container.
I’m not sure how accurate this is or even if it’s an issue as I don’t see it mentioned by other reviewers. That said, this customer is absolutely satisfied with their purchase. In their own words, the Cuisinart DBM-8 fulfilled “all my needs marvelously”.
Reviewer 3 — “Great Consistent Grind”
This reviewer mentions the same pros that have been mentioned by the other reviewers above, but mentions a few cons as well that are both peculiar and peculiar to them. This one seems to be finicky and I’d generally ignore reviews such as this one.
